EXALTED RULER’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

Summer has finally arrived and in most homes the windows have flown open to allow that clean air and warmth of the season refresh and rejuvenate you.

This is exactly what has happened to your second home, your Lodge. There is a spirit and refreshing atmosphere and attitude that have been missing for years. The entire members’ area upstairs has been repainted and cleaned because a member contacted the right people and the young students from our Technical High School came in and stripped and painted it. Another member with expertise and energy had us purchase the proper equipment for the Lodge and the rugs were shampooed, the shower room repainted, the floors re-tiled, shower stalls cleaned and the steamer (on which we had spent thousands to repair) finally done right at a fraction of the cost. The downstairs area, both foyer and corridors, have been stripped and painted and plastered at a minimum cost again by the students and some by a contractor. All done because members with the right connections and knowledge and the will to do it volunteered their efforts and we now have a home that we can be really proud of. Women members can shower in privacy and it wasn’t because of the "Summer Winds" made famous by Frankie. We listen when spoken to and follow suggestions seriously and the results are here for everyone to see.

So, enjoy the warm days, beaches and vacations but also enjoy the deck, a cool Coke or two with your family and friends. And it is all practically next door.

The lobster dinner and stop at Hampton Beach were absolutely wonderful. I don’t want to mention names but you know who you are. If I mentioned all of the members who just "let it fly" I’d need more than a page.

To be Exalted Ruler of this Lodge – it is a PLEASURE.

Fraternally yours,

Mitch Hilow, PDD, Exalted Ruler
